Bring something unexpected into the workplace

A Farm combines food growing, biophilia and experiences to create a feature that does more than look good. From bespoke Farmwalls integrated into interiors to crops grown for workplace kitchens, we help organisations use their spaces in new and unexpected ways.

How can an Office Farm bring innovation into the workplace?

Workplace innovation doesn't have to mean more technology, and instead it can be about rethinking how familiar spaces are used and creating experiences people wouldn't expect to find at work.

Our Farms transform walls, communal areas, restaurants and underused spaces into productive growing environments. Fresh food can be grown where people work, harvested by the workplace community and used by chefs just metres away.

This is a different way to think about workplace design: combining nature, food, technology and experience in a living feature.

A different kind of workplace amenity

Living

A Farm changes and grows

rather than remaining a

static feature .

Productive

Instead of simply bringing planting into the workplace, a Farm grows fresh, edible crops.

Interactive

Harvests, workshops and events give people opportunities to participate.

Adaptable

Farm systems can be designed around different spaces, uses and workplace requirements.

Connected

Food, catering, design and experience come together around one feature.

Innovation you can experience

Employees can watch crops grow, join a harvest, taste what's being produced and see fresh ingredients make their way into food and drinks served in their building.

It creates something unusual in the everyday workplace, and gives people a reason to stop, look and get involved.

Rethink where food comes from

What if some of the ingredients in a workplace restaurant didn't arrive on a delivery van, but were harvested a few metres from the kitchen? Our Farms allow catering teams to grow herbs and leafy greens  inside the buildings where they're used. Crops can be selected around the needs of the kitchen and incorporated into dishes, salad bars, drinks and events. It creates a short connection between growing, harvesting and eating, while giving employees visibility of where their food comes from.

From idea to integrated Farm

Every organisation is different, so a Farm doesn't have to be an off-the-shelf product. We work with workplace designers, architects and project teams to explore how food growing can be incorporated into a space from the outset. That might mean adapting the dimensions of a Farmwall, concealing growing infrastructure or developing finishes and materials that complement the surrounding interior.

What does workplace innovation look like?

Workplace innovation can mean finding better ways to use space, support people and create experiences. Our Farms bring several of those ideas together in one place.

Space

Turn walls and communal areas into productive growing spaces.

Experience

Give employees and occupiers something they can see, taste and participate in.

Food

Connect food production more closely with workplace catering and the people eating it.

Innovation in action

See how organisations are finding new ways to bring food growing into their spaces.

Bespoke Farmwall

This client wanted a statement feature for its workplace, so we redesigned our Farmwall mechanism to hang directly on the wall, incorporating the growing infrastructure within a stone-like Corian finish.
