Harvest Sessions

Guided by our expert Urban Farming team our Harvest Sessions are designed to bring people together and actively engage with the farms.

We run these biweekly and encourage people to get involved and ‘pick their own’ produce which they can then take home.

If you're looking to your farm to provide an onsite source for fresh, low food-mile produce we work side by side with in-house catering teams to deliver the harvest straight to the kitchen.

ENRICHMENT

Expand the impact of your farm to the wider community

Through carefully curated partnerships and our in-house expertise, we have a range of events, products and services to enrich the office farm experience and extend the reach into the local community.

The range of options includes:

STRATEGY

Your Office Farm contributes to your ESG goals

The Office Farm contributes to your ESG goals, specifically the Environmental and Social targets. Paramount to our service is the data we use to clearly illustrate the impact your Office Farm is having both on your sustainability goals and impact on the wider community.

Environmental

Fresh, low food-mile produce directly to building occupants or from harvest to the onsite kitchen.

Reduces employee-related Scope 3 emissions while creating a sustainable onsite food solution.

Contributes to your Employee Awareness Program, actively engaging them through harvests and events.

Social

We partner with local charities to donate fresh produce harvested from your Office Farm.

We invite local school groups and community groups to your Office Farm to learn more about growing at home and sustainable food systems.

A tool to improve the mental wellbeing of employees through regular engagement with nature.

Learn more about Square Mile Farms

Do I have to tend to the farm?

Your farm will be looked after by a dedicated Urban Farmer who will be on site weekly. They will take care of everything from topping up the water and nutrients through to tending to the plants.

Will the farm smell at all?

Your farm will smell amazing, spreading a pleasant aroma, especially when the crops are harvested!

Does the farm have to be connected to a water supply?

Your farm is totally self-contained, with a built-in water reservoir. Your Urban Farmer will refill this using a jerry can - they simply need a nearby tap (for example in a butler’s sink in a cleaner's cupboard).

What can we grow on our farm?

We have a range of over 50 crops including; herbs, leafy greens and lettuces. We plant these crops as they get the best yields. It is possible to grow fruiting crops, such as chillies and tomatoes, but these take much longer to reach maturity, which means you don’t get a meaningful return.

How often will the Urban Farmer visit?

Typically they will be on site weekly to perform maintenance for your farm. Your Community Manager will keep you up to date and work with you to arrange building access etc.

Do we have to stick to the same crops once we decide on what we want?

You can choose from our Plant Library once the 8 week growing cycle is completed. You can introduce new flavours, or stick with your favourites.
